Paaspop 2027 is opening its fiftieth-anniversary edition with exactly the kind of first wave the Dutch festival has built its reputation on: arena-sized voices, left-field guitar bands, hard dance, hip-hop, local cult heroes and tribute spectacle all sharing one gloriously overloaded poster. The first 50 names include Rag’n’Bone Man, BLØF, Clouseau, Sub Focus, The Opposites, De Staat and Job Jobse.
The celebration runs from March 26–28, 2027 at De Molenheide in Schijndel. This is only the opening chapter: Paaspop says more artists will follow as it builds toward a programme of more than 350 acts across its many stages and areas.

A first wave that behaves like a whole festival
Rag’n’Bone Man is the biggest international vocal name in the opening announcement. His bruised soul-pop gives the poster a heavyweight centre, while BLØF, Clouseau, Rowwen Hèze and The Opposites bring the kind of Benelux familiarity that can turn a festival field into one enormous singalong.
The guitar side is much stranger and more exciting than a standard nostalgia bill. De Staat remain one of the Netherlands’ most physical alternative live bands, Fat Dog bring a chaotic post-punk charge, and Joey Valence & Brae deliver breakneck rap energy with a knowingly old-school edge. Add Skindred, Bad Nerves, The Rumjacks, Tröckener Kecks and Golden State Riot, and the first wave already has enough distortion to keep several tents busy.
Dance fans are hardly being asked to wait for the next announcement. Sub Focus brings festival-scale drum and bass, DYEN supplies the harder, faster end of techno, and Job Jobse remains one of the most reliable selectors for a crowd that wants emotion with its club music. Buiten Westen, Bizzey, Turfy Gang, Dopebwoy, Yade Lauren and Ronnie Flex & The Fam widen the Dutch dance and hip-hop picture.
The pop and discovery layer
Paaspop’s smaller-print bookings are where the poster starts rewarding close reading. Kingfishr, DADI FREYR, Pokey LaFarge, Eddie 9V, Isabèl Usher, Elmer, Milolaathetlukken and Lisa Korver make this much more than a top-heavy launch. There is room for polished pop, roots music, theatre, internet-era Dutch voices and artists still moving rapidly upward.
Then Paaspop does what Paaspop does: it throws in bookings that would look impossible on a cleaner festival poster. Pink Floyd in Symphony, Völkerball, Coldplace XL, Morgan Wallen Tribute and Joy Division Undercover sit alongside Bertus Staigerpaip, Politie Warnsveld and Wrecking Crue. The point is not stylistic consistency. The point is wandering into a tent and finding something you would never have planned to see.

Why the anniversary matters
Paaspop began in 1977 as a one-day event with only a handful of bands. Fifty years later, the festival expects roughly 120,000 visits across the weekend and is preparing more than 350 performances spread around a temporary city of tents, clubs, theatre spaces and themed areas. That scale explains why a 50-name announcement can still be described as a first wave.
The opening poster also captures the festival’s central appeal. Paaspop is not trying to be a single-genre authority. It is the traditional start of the Dutch festival season, built around discovery, collision and excess. A hard-techno set, a rock show, a Dutch pop institution and a full tribute production can all be equally correct choices within the same hour.
Planning the weekend
Do not treat this poster as the final schedule. The festival has published the first wave, while more artists and the detailed timetable will arrive later. Save the dates now, but wait for the complete running order before locking in day-by-day routes.
Expect the stages to feel like separate venues. Paaspop’s areas range from the giant Apollo tent to Phoenix, Roxy, The Shelter, Theater, Thunderbolt and several club-style spaces. Moving between them is part of the experience, so leave room for detours rather than building a plan with no breathing space.
Watch the official channels for later waves. A festival targeting more than 350 acts has a lot left to reveal. The opening 50 are a strong statement, not the finished product.
For a fiftieth anniversary, restraint was never going to be the brief. Paaspop has started with a lineup that is proudly broad, occasionally bizarre and designed to keep changing character from tent to tent.
